Friction Drive

Y-axis drives on the ground. A timing belt moves the motor away from the ground and increases mechanical advantage for precision and torque.

Controller Case

A custom enclosure secures the controller to the frame. The stepper drivers are cooled by 40mm fan for thermal management.

Initial Assembly

Frame and electronics assembled. Cables managed via spiral sleeving and zip tied to frame. Details in build log.

First Print

Initial print in PLA adhered well to standard painter's tape. Acceleration and jerkx tuned to maximize performance without slipping.
